The American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid course teaches rescuers how to recognize and treat medical, injury and environmental emergencies in the critical first minutes until EMS arrives. HeartSaver CPR is a basic life support (CPR) course that includes one-rescuer CPR for the adult, child and infant using mouth-to-mouth ventilation and mouth-to-mask ventilation. Also included are techniques for obstructed airway and for the conscious and unconscious adult, child and infant. Includes mannequin practice and skills demonstration.

Please bring a bag lunch.

All certification cards will be sent electronically. Please provide an accurate email in each person's registration.

Cancellation Policy

Requests for refunds must be received in writing no later than 2 weeks prior to the event. Refunds are subject to a 25% processing charge. If a program is canceled by GSHNC, a complete refund will be given. If you are unable to attend the date of the event you registered for, you can transfer to a future date of the same event. Requests for transfers must be received in writing no later than one week before the date of the event. Registrations can be transferred once, and thereafter cannot be transferred or canceled for a refund.

If an event does not receive a minimum number of registrations by two weeks prior to the event, it will be canceled. Registrations for some programs may open back up after that two week deadline if they have received more than their minimum number of registrations, but some programs with strict planning and supply-ordering timelines may not. When in doubt, please register before the two-week deadline.

    Buzz Bucks and GSHNC Council Gift Cards can now be used online to pay for program, property, and camp registrations! Simply select the 'gift card' option at checkout and fill in the gift card number to apply it to your order.
     
  • Is there Financial Assistance available for programs?
    Financial assistance is potentially available for all GSHNC programs and trainings. Financial assistance requests should be submitted at least one month in advance of the program date. Click here if you are in need of girl financial assistance for a program.

  • Individual Participation 
    GSHNC programs are open to participation by both individual girls and troops. Girls can attend an event without the rest of their troop as long as an adult accompanies them, unless otherwise noted in the event description.  
     
  • Waitlists and Attendance Caps
    *Waitlists are available for some programs. If you have a waitlist spot, it will show up as Attendee's Name (waitlisted) on the checkout screen, and you will not have to pay for their spot in the program. Please complete your registration and press the 'Complete Order' button to be placed on the waitlist. If a space opens up, you will automatically be emailed a notification and a link to pay your program fee.
    *If any category of participants (eg. 'Girl' or 'Adult') will not allow you to increase the number of participants, that means that category is FULL for this event. Please contact the Council office at 704-731-6500 or customercare@hngirlscouts.org to inquire about the possibility of being added to the event.
